What an exciting week in Year 3 and a sunny end to the first half of the Summer Term.

In English we wrote our own Haiku’s; a Japanese form of poetry usually written about nature or the seasons. We had to consider who many syllables were in each line as they follow the syllable pattern of 5 -7 – 5. We also then had to make sure we used exiting vocabulary and the Haiku still made sense which was challenging but lots of fun and our Haiku’s sound great.

In Maths we have been working with different types of angles and lines; horizontal, vertical, parallel and perpendicular lines and acute and obtuse angles.

Our Science this term has been about plants reproduction. We discussed what a plant needs to grow, how to keep it healthy and we have explored the pollination process looking at how seeds are dispersed.

We Enjoyed lots of exciting days out of school too including a cricket festival where we were able to practise different cricket skills such as throwing, catching, batting and making runs. This linked nicely to our school curriculum lesson where we have been playing mini cricket games and using the skills to improve our matches.

And to top off the week, we had our Ising pop festival which sounded phenomenal as I’m sure those who were lucky enough to attend would agree. Year 3 had to learn 7 songs in two days with lyrics and dance moves, but they performed brilliantly.

It’s been such a busy half term, please enjoy our photos to see what we have been learning about.
