We have had an amazing week this week with our Class Assembly and finishing off a few of our units including our Rocks in science, Teamwork in P.S.H.E, Bread making in DT and spreadsheets in Computing.
In English we have been using the book ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King Smith to help us create our own adventure story.
In Maths we were using related calculations to help us work out some 2-digit number x 1-digit number problems.
We were all surprised by Mary Anning’s fossils and were fascinated by what that teaches us about the animals and plants which used to live on Earth. We also did quite a few investigations about different types of rocks and their properties.
We have really enjoyed learning about how to work collaboratively to design a garden for a particular target audience and worked together as either landscapers or budgeters before getting feedback from other groups to see if our garden fits its purpose.
In DT we have planned, tasted and made bread. We learnt how to mix ingredients, kneed dough and design and evaluate the final product. It was so much fun tasting lots of different samples before deciding which ingredients we wanted to include in our bread. I think we have a few bakers in the making!
It’s been such a busy half term, please enjoy the photos to see more about our learning.
