This term we are learning all about animals. We have started off by focussing on Bears. Last week we read ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ and we made our own story maps with labels. This week we brought in our teddy bears and have written some sentences to describe them, used pastels to draw them and measured them using cubes. We also got creative and made bear masks, and fabric collages of a bear face- we were great at sewing!

In maths we have been completing repeated patterns using the bears. We have re-capped our learning on doubling numbers too.

In PE this week we were balancing beanbags on different body parts, using underarm throws to hit different targets and we were rolling balls to a partner.

In PSHE we have been learning about friendship. We worked in pairs to ‘build a friend’ and note down what makes a good friend. We thought of things like being helpful, making someone laugh, being kind, playing nicely and sharing.

This week we have really enjoyed the outside area as it has been so sunny. We have been paddling in water and playing in our sand shed.

We love using the bikes every Friday.

Reception is great fun! Look at the photos below to see us in action.
