A Peek of the Week in Reception 9.10.26
It has been a very busy first term in Reception. We have been learning the classroom routines such as listening, following instructions, waiting our turn, sharing, tidying up and making new friends.
We have been learning to recognise and write our names using the correct pencil grip. We have also started our Monster phonics scheme and have learnt some sounds and tricky words. We have used our phonic skills to hear initial sounds and to sort objects to match them.
In maths we have started the White Rose scheme and have been sorting and matching objects, comparing big/small, heavy/light, full and empty as well as counting, recognising and ordering numbers to 10/20.
Our topic learning is ‘All about me’ and we have talked about our families, special friends, drawn self-portraits, named body parts and talked about how we have changed from a baby to now.
As it is Autumn we have been planting daffodil bulbs in our garden.
Have a look at the photos below to see us enjoying our fun learning!
