On Monday morning Councillor Tisi visited our school. She toured the school before explaining more about her role as a local councillor in assembly. Her visit was part of a series of assemblies focusing on the British Value of Democracy.

She gave a demonstration of democracy by asking the children to select their favourite Pringle flavour from a choice of three. After several different attempts to do this it was agreed that the fairest way was to hold a vote.

Councillor Tisi brought along her robes which are worn on ceremonial occasions. Some of the children were lucky enough to try them on!

Finally, the children asked her questions about her role. These ranged from asking about the council's contribution to ensuring the environment is protected and wondering whether children's views are considered in the council's plans.

A big thank you to Councillor Tisi for spending time with us.
